Holidays

Well the mid year holidays are finally here. That means three whole weeks of sitting on my ass with Casey by my side with out Frame looking over my shoulder watching every breath I take and making shore I go to class. Finally I can go through a day with out him and finally I can go a day of relaxing. It doesn’t really help that Casey doesn’t get off till the end of this week but that’s ok, I might go down and have a skate…after I get my blades off Casey.

Speaking of Casey and skating, she finally came over her fear of going down skate ramps on blades and finally went down one. In-fact she has managed to go down a few larger ones. I have been so proud of her and going down the ramps.

In other skating news, I managed to get some new photos of me doing some tricks; they are off the camera and will be on in the album shortly. Feel free to tell me what you think.

Well what else has been going on; I worked at Edrington on Thursday to help out for the concert they held that night. I was only there to install a communications system so the people in the bio-box could talk to the people on the sides of stage but I was so appalled by the shocking job that had been done in setting up mic’s and the way the sound desk was arranged, I decided to hang around for most the day and help them out. It was around this time Dale dropped in to help out with the com’s due to a miner problem with them…turns out I forgot to fully plug in a cable (my bad). I didn’t think you needed a through when you did to send it somewhere else I thought was the end of the link. (Now I know).

Other then faults In what I could see, I have been told that what I cant see (so the wiring of the hall) was also poorly done; such as having 12 XLR cables hanging off the roof you cant even reach unless you have a lifter. The only thing is you can’t get a lifter on stage because they were too stupid to build a ramp for one. The speaker’s were sounding crap because of Dale blowing them up like 4 years ago along with the mixer. Well to make it easier I will label all the faults I found with this great hall (so it was made out to be)

- 12 Cables hanging from an unreachable roof.

- No ramp to get anything heavy on stage, including a lifter.

- Crappy old speakers and mixer.

- Unfinished cubed.

- Cables hanging out of the wall that shouldn’t be showing.

- Lighting bar needs to be lowered to hang and focus.

- Lights impossible to focus on the ground.

- Stage to small to fit every one on or even just a band.

- Also many more.

So now you’re wondering what is good about this hall. Well I have one answer.

The looks; such as the wooden panels on the wall, polished and smooth. Shore it doesn’t help with the acoustics of the room, but hell, they look good. After all, isn’t that what Haileybury is all about, the looks. As long as we look good it’s all ok.

Now onto Friday.

Friday consisted of setting up and helping on the production of the girl’s house music. Don’t bother asking who won because I have no idea, they all sounded crap from my point of view. While the music industry 3&4 class set up I decided to play with the lights before it got to crowded, I managed to make a few chasses and have some fun before Luke came to do some real work. In the end it didn’t turn out as bad as the boy’s house music which was a total disaster. During It I decided to use the spot light for the presenter. All up the highlight was Luke’s lighting work considering he moved nothing to set it up but still managed to make quite a show for what he did do.

Yet again thanks to Dale for coming in to give us a hand with it all. Even though he crashed the desk and some how stoped the lights from working a few hours before the show started.

Any way that is all from me for now.

Have fun to you all on your holiday and hope its something to remember.

Catch ya

EXAMS / THE GAT

Well this week was exam week, and after starting off with Monday and Tuesday off it was considerably harder to get up early for the bus on Wednesday for my Psychology exam. After a huge lead up with 2 weeks of Psych class time revising for it...and very little actually being revised by me, the exam was rather easy. I seemed to know everything on it allowing me to finish it 30 mins early.

Thursday comes and so did the GAT. Now for those of you who don’t know, the GAT is quite possibly the biggest waste of 3 hours of my life. But for some reason the marks are important for determining a VCE score or something like that...I wasn’t really listening at the time.
After leavening an hour early I was worried if I had done enough on it but that was soon settled after seeing one of my mates walk into his locker after finishing an hour early as well. We hung around the canteen for a bit while we waited for some other mates to finish before walking to Hungry Jacks (a tradition me and some others have...along with most the school to do after an event) for some lunch, accompanied with some very odd yet interesting conversation by James and Andrew.
after spending some time at HJ's (Hungry Jacks) we decided it was about time to get home to relax so we went our separate ways and found our own way home...most of us by the same bus.

So that’s my boring day and now I am over sitting in the new gym for exams and cant wait to get back to my usual schedule.
